What's New At NAMI

We are continually growing, and our current office is getting too small for all of our staff, interns, and volunteers. Our new location will be: 541 W. Wooster St. Bowling Green, OH 43402, with our mailing address PO Box 432. Our hours of operation will remain the same (9am-3pm M-F) and as will our telephone number (419-352-0626).

This great event will be held the Bowling Green Country Club: 923 Fairview Avenue, Bowling Green, OH. 9 Hole Shot Gun with teams of 4. It will cost $40 per person- includes golf, cart, and Mexican buffet, or $14 person- for the Mexican buffet only. If you like to golf, eat Mexican food, or both, this is an excellent event for you to attend! Payments for your group must be sent to PO Box 432, Bowling Green, OH 43402 by June 1, 2012.

This free 12 week program is designed to educate family members and caregivers of individuals with mental illnesses.  Each week a new topic is covered, such as information regarding various illnesses and disorders, medication, strategies for handling crisis and relapse, as well as guidance.

Class Time: Tuesdays, 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM

Location: 804 Thurstin Ave.

Its time for the NAMI 2012 Mental Health Conference. The event will take place on Friday, April 13th at BGSU's Levis Commons location in Perrysburg. The conference will last from 9am and run until 3pm. The cost is $10 a person and will include lunch. The Back to the Basics workship will include several presentations on different topics within mental health. Question and answer panels will also take place.

On March 19th, 2012, NAMI Wood County will be hosting out fifth Annual Dinner at Dyers Family Dining in Bowling Green. Dyers is located at 200 Campbill Hill Rd. The theme is "Mental Illness in Sports", and will provide interesting information on professional athletes who have been diagnosed with a mental illness. In addition, a panel of speakers will sharetheir stories of how mental illness had affected their lives.
