What You Should Expect

  • Online class offered over GoToMeeting.
  • Meets for six sessions, two hours each, free of charge.
  • Designed for parents and other family caregivers of children and adolescents living with mental illness.
  • Taught by a team of trained teachers who are family caregivers of individuals who developed symptoms of mental illness as children.
  • Provides critical information and strategies related to caregiving.
  • Incorporates presentations, discussion, and interactive exercises.

  • Current research on treatments including evidence-based therapies, medications, and side effects.

NAMI Basics is an educational program for parents and caregivers of children and adolescents living with mental illnesses. It covers the fundamentals of caring for yourself, your family, and your child.

 from 5:30-8:00PM at the Children's Resource Center
 (1045 Klotz Road, Bowling Green OH 43402)
At the same place and time as NAMI Basics, we will be providing free programming for your kids!

Your children will have the opportunity to explore their feelings, understand what they mean, and discover healthy ways to manage them through age-appropriate activities.

​Please note: 

  • Children MUST be able to use the restroom independently.
  • Parents MUST arrive at 5:15PM to fill out all paperwork for children to participate. 
I will be bringing my child/children with me to participate in this programming.
